When people think about the Middle East, I am sure they picture a vast desert with a scorching sun and this is valid to some degree. Kuwait consists largely of the sandy Arabian Desert, with a very minimal urban area. After growing up in a tropical city in South Africa I thought I was prepared for the heat but I was still taken by surprise.
Children will spend the full amount of time outside, learning to explore and have fun. Kuwait celebrates its National Day and Liberation Day on 25 and 26 February each year, marking the country's independence after the First Gulf War. National day is in fact June 19th, but it is celebrated on June 25th as it marks the day when the Sheik Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah came to power.
