Kuwait's ranking for economic liberty is 63.2, making its economy the 79th freest in the 2020 Index. Its overall score rose by 2.4 points, largely due to a higher score for transparency of government.

Although there are no trains, Kuwait has a well-developed road network and public transport is restricted to buses and taxis. Plans are in the process of building a railway network in the future, but at present, buses, cars or taxis are the only public transit means available in Kuwait.
